Andrew Ness joined the Franklin Templeton Emerging Markets Equity (FTEME) investment team on 17 September 2018, becoming portfolio manager for Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC (TEMIT). Andrew is a seasoned emerging markets equity portfolio manager with over two decades of experience.
Chetan Sehgal remains lead portfolio manager for TEMIT. Andrew and Chetan are supported by the senior leadership team within FTEME and the full breadth and depth of the team’s research capability across emerging markets. They continue to be focused on enhancing the investment process and improving investment outcomes.
Andrew Ness is based in Edinburgh and reports to Manraj Sekhon, CIO, FTEME. Andrew has a strong alignment with FTEME in terms of investment approach and philosophy. He joined from Martin Currie (part of Legg Mason), where he was a senior member of its global emerging markets equity team from 2010. Prior to that, he held similar roles for Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) and Deutsche Asset Management, having begun his investment career at Murray Johnstone in 1994. He has an MSc in business economics from the University of Strathclyde.
